Here is a little about me as an educator,
I grew up in Redding, CA, and attended private and public schools while my father worked in business and my mother taught at Anderson Middle School. I competed in varsity athletics for four years and completed the AP program at Foothill High School. I went away to attend college at Gonzaga University where I graduated as a history major with a concentration in Catholic Studies and philosophy and religious studies minors. I came back home to teach and raise a family, attending National University for my Single-Subject Credential in Social Studies, Education Specialist Credential, and my administration credential with a Masters in Educational Administration.
This is my 9th year as a teacher at AMS. This year I will be teaching math interventions for 5th through 8th grade and I will teach a ELD course. Of course, I will continue teaching the Student Technology Team elective, coaching soccer, basketball, and track. I am also serving on our School Site Council and our district technology and RtI committees.
Well, that is a little about my background. On a more personal note, I have a four-year-old boy who just keeps getting bigger by the day, and a newborn! I will do everything within my ability to provide your child with the education I want for my own.
Welcome to AMS,
Bill Koppes
